At Focal Point Apparel, we know Fast Fashion is a big issue around the world. We feel it was important to try and better ourself and do our bit towards helping the issue.
There are two main points that we have been working on to improve our business; the first being the garment materials. All of our T-shirts, Hoodies & Sweatshirts are produced using 100% sustainable and traceable low impact cotton.
The factories that we work with all use renewable energy for the manufacturing of our clothing and heavily focus on limiting their carbon output, in particular we are proud to say the production of Hoodies and Sweatshirts is completely carbon neutral.
The second point is the working conditions for the factory workers. We choose to work with manufactures that fulfil the following criteria:
- No use of Child labour
- No use of forced labour
- Safe and healthy working conditions
- Legal labour contracts
- Payment of living wage
- Freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining
- No discrimination against employees
- No excessive hours of work
This is an ongoing issue for us and we will be continuing to push and explore ways for us to do better; we believe good quality clothing doesn’t mean they need to be made in sweatshops.
